This door way has been painted by many artists! I first painted it in the summer of '96. My goal was to do a painting to give to my parents,
Jim and Marie Billups, on their anniversary,
for they had been married at this
mission in San Juan Capistrano,
in the summer of '42.
Well, I was there in '96 on their anniversary. My greatest challenge, was that my Dad was no longer with us, physically.
He left on his journey Home in May of that year.
So, I titled this piece "Passages", for each of us must pass through this portal, on our own journeys Home.
