 Years ago I use to photograph just about anything that moved, when I was driving out in the western states! That activity caused me to have more than 30,000 slides of just about every subject. Rambling through the files one day, came across this great herd of horses...it might have been in the Taos area or New Mexico, which I visited annually back in the mid 70s.

All of these murals and large paintings were created on location, en plein air, for the bottom portion of the mural. The upper panels often times are created in the studio, taking the images of clouds from 20 plein air paintings I have captured over the past 15 years, finding the "right one" to capture the total feeling of the moment.
