This is a book cover created for Win Blevins' book "Charbonneau: Man of Two Dreams." I met the publisher of "American Rendevouz" Magazine at a mountain man "re-inactment" in the Sierra Mountains of California, in the early '80s. Teater saw my work, and asked me to do a cover for him...and Win Blevins saw THAT cover, and asked me to work with him on his book covers!
Now the wonderful "CIRCLE OF LIFE" that happened here, was that I use to be full time illustration, until the U.S. Army commissioned me to do Sacajawea. Then, in the research for this, I was offered a one artist show at a museum in Montana, bringing me back to fine arts.
NOW, with this book cover, I was completing the "circle," and returning back to illustration.
THE INTERESTING THING, WAS THAT THE BEGINNINGS AND ENDING OF THIS CIRCLE, WAS CREATED BY MOTHER AND SON...YOU SEE, CHARBONNEAU WAS SACAJAWEA'S SON!!
