This also has a wonderful story to it.
While at Lake Cachuma, inland from Santa Barbara, California,
I was "camped out" with a friend in a lodge (commonly called a "teepee").
One night these guys came in with their zip tents,
and for a dozen times or more, one guy would unzip his tent,
and call out "I love you all!" and then rezip his tent
(as if the sound would not travel through it!!)
Well, sweet thoughts or not...I was almost ready to kill him...
I was getting so tired, and dragged out of sleep with each sweet refrain!
Well, the next morning, these fellas came back up from the lake,
wet...and the lead guy stopped to visit.
He looked at some of the beaded jewelry I had created,
and told his friends to pick something out for their wives. As he walked away,
he said his manager would pay me. I looked at the other guy, and asked:
"And exactly, what do you manage?"
The first guy turned around and said:
"well you would probably know my brothers better.
They are the BGs. I'm Andy Gibb."
Well, later Andy sat down and looked at my portfolio,
and asked to buy this piece. Later that day, his parents showed up,
to visit them (they were on their way to a concert in Arizona).
Mr. Gibb also asked to buy this same piece, without knowing Andy had already expressed an interest.
Well, neither got it, because it was in a very important collection already...Mine!!
But years later, in a more financially difficult time, a collector
caught me at a weak point,
and the painting is no longer in my collection!
