I receive many comments from viewers that it "must be a lot of fun,
painting out of doors..." Well, yes and no.
More than anything in the world, I do love being out in the wilderness. However, painting there, can sometimes be a real challenge! With bugs, wind, rain, and dusty roads (as I was on, to capture this piece), keeping one's inspiration, motivation and goals alive can sometimes be almost impossible!
Not to mention the constantly changing light, which affects all the colors, values and inspiration one first saw...and perhaps, after the lay in, could possibly be gone!
Other than this...
yes, it is great "fun" to paint out of doors!!?!
