About the only thing that is worse for an artist to do, besides copying another artist's style or style/subject...is to copy themselves!! In my belief, this is sure death! For if we copy (other than to "learn" something in so doing), then we cannot also be "creating!"

In some still lifes, it might just be an understanding of how many reds can be created, without washing out or having a pink painting instead! Always, ALWAYS working with as many elements as possible.
