And then, once in a great while, I will set out to see if I can still work with "surfaces," not that of the actual painting WHICH I FEEL IS VERY IMPORTANT, but the surface of the objects in the still life. In this case, playing the soft absorbant surface of the small raku pot, against the shiny, illuminous black vase, and the patina of the tea pot...
I never try to "do it again" in any of my still lifes...that would be like a mother wanting her 2nd and 3rd borns being "just like Johnny."
Sure has nothing to do with "creativity!"
