No, the title is not spelled wrong! "Comlements" is referring to the color complements in this piece: yellow verses violet, blue against orange, red "complimented" by green! Throughout this piece my desisions for color choices were based on that color creating a better result for the over all effect of the painting.
And many of you thought artists "just" painted for pure "joy". Well, we do, but for myself, if I can not do one of two things in painting, then I find no need to do it! First, I need to learn something in the process! And second, especially in plein air painting, to have the blessing to be able to capture a fleeting moment, to be able to share this wonderful thing we call LIFE, with others!
